Terms of Service

Last updated: July 28, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Storyield ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Storyield is a software tool that lets e-commerce businesses ("Merchants") settle purchases made by social media influencers ("Influencers") in exchange for an Instagram Story. Storyield is offered inside the Merchant's own checkout as an additional payment method, shown to the Influencer as "Pay with a Story". Storyield does not hold, transfer, or process funds, and is not a payment service provider. Its role is to record the Story obligation, verify it, and inform the Merchant's systems of the result; any movement of money happens outside Storyield, through the Merchant and its own payment providers.

Eligibility is binary. At checkout, Storyield evaluates whether the Influencer's connected Instagram account is eligible for the Merchant's campaign. If it is, the 24-hour Story covers 100% of the cart and the Influencer owes nothing else. If it is not, the option is shown as unavailable and the Influencer completes the purchase with the Merchant's usual payment methods — Storyield never blocks a purchase. There is no partial coverage, no balance, and no amount to top up.

"Paying with a Story" means the Influencer publishes, and keeps live for 24 hours, an Instagram Story carrying the campaign creative — a branded image with a discount label, a unique discount code, a link to the Merchant's own store, and an optional donation — and, in exchange, receives the products in the cart, for their own use or for donation. A "Storyield Transaction" is a completed and verified story-for-purchase exchange.

The Influencer's followers then shop directly in the Merchant's own store and enter the discount code there. Storyield does not administer, sell, or ship products, and does not move or hold funds. The Merchant runs its own catalog, coupons, checkout and sales, and is solely responsible for its products, prices and discount codes.

3. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
  • Merchants must have a valid e-commerce business with their own store and checkout.
  • Influencers must have an active Instagram Business or Creator account connected via Meta OAuth.
  • All users must provide accurate, current, and complete registration information.

4. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

5. Merchant Obligations

  • Run your own store, catalog and checkout; honor the discount codes you issue.
  • Provide accurate discount codes and the discount overlay for each campaign.
  • Be solely responsible for your products, pricing, order fulfilment, and any refunds, which all take place in your own store.
  • Deliver the products covered by the Story to the Influencer once the campaign is completed and verified.
  • Pay the applicable subscription fees and per-Story service fees described in Section 7.
  • Comply with all applicable advertising and consumer protection laws.

6. Influencer Obligations

  • Publish the agreed campaign overlay to your Instagram Story within the specified timeframe after accepting a campaign.
  • Keep the Story live for a minimum of 24 hours (unless otherwise specified by the Merchant).
  • Do not alter, crop, or cover the campaign creative, its paid-partnership disclosure, or its link while the Story is live.
  • Comply with Instagram's Community Guidelines and all applicable advertising disclosure requirements (e.g., #ad, #sponsored).
  • Not artificially inflate follower counts or engagement metrics.
  • Provide accurate Instagram account information.

7. Fees & Billing

7.1 Subscription Fees

Storyield is offered to Merchants on a subscription basis. Each plan enables up to a set number of Storyield Transactions per month (for example, Starter, Growth, or a custom Enterprise plan). Subscription fees are billed to the Merchant in advance on a monthly or annual basis according to the plan selected.

7.2 Verified-Story Fee

For each Storyield Transaction, Storyield charges the Merchant a fixed fee per verified Story. The fee is a fixed amount agreed in the Merchant's plan or contract: it is not a percentage of the product's price and does not vary with the value of the cart. It is a B2B service fee billed to the Merchant — it is not a commission on the Merchant's store sales, and it is not payment processing. Storyield takes no share of the Merchant's store sales and charges nothing to Influencers or to consumers.

The fee accrues only if the Story reaches verified status as defined in Section 9. If the Story is not published, is removed before the 24-hour period ends, or otherwise fails verification, no fee accrues for that Transaction.

7.3 Influencers Never Pay and Never Get Paid

Influencers use Storyield at no cost. An Influencer never pays money and never receives money through Storyield: there is no balance, no top-up, no difference to settle and no payout. The products covered by a Story are not a gift: they are the consideration for a verifiable obligation — publishing the agreed Story and keeping it live for the full 24-hour period, with the campaign creative intact and the paid-partnership disclosure visible, as set out in Sections 6 and 9.

7.4 No Consumer Payment Processing

  • Storyield is presented inside the Merchant's checkout as a payment method, but it does not process payments and does not move or hold funds between Merchants, Influencers, or their followers.
  • All purchases happen directly in the Merchant's own store, under the Merchant's own terms, pricing, and payment methods. Storyield is not a party to those transactions and does not handle purchase payments or refunds.
  • Any optional donation featured in a campaign overlay is arranged and fulfilled outside Storyield; Storyield does not collect or hold donation funds.

8. Publishing & Monitoring Instagram Stories

For each campaign you accept, you explicitly authorize Storyield to publish a single Instagram Story on your behalf through the Meta Graph API. Each publication requires your confirmation in the app; Storyield never posts automatically, on a schedule, or in bulk. Every Story includes a visible paid-partnership disclosure (e.g. "#Ad" / "Publicidad") baked into the creative, as required by applicable advertising-disclosure laws (e.g. Germany, Spain, Argentina).

Storyield monitors published Stories to verify they remain live for the required duration. By using the Service, you acknowledge and consent to this monitoring. Per Meta's platform policies and GDPR, Storyield cannot prevent users from deleting their own Stories.

9. Campaign Verification

Storyield verifies published Stories by periodically reading the Story and its insights through the Meta Graph API. A Story is verified when all of the following conditions are met: (i) it remained live for the full 24-hour period; (ii) the campaign creative was published and kept intact; (iii) the paid-partnership disclosure remained visible; and (iv) the campaign link remained active. A verified Story completes the Storyield Transaction and triggers the fee described in Section 7.2. If any condition fails — in particular if the Influencer removes the Story early — the campaign is marked incomplete and no fee accrues. Verification is based solely on the Story's status — Storyield does not take, hold, or forfeit any monetary deposit, and the Influencer owes no money in any case.

10. Intellectual Property

All content, trademarks, and intellectual property on storyield.com are owned by Storyield or its licensors. Users retain ownership of their own content (campaign creative, Story content) but grant Storyield a limited license to display and process it as needed for the Service.

11. Prohibited Conduct

  • Using fake or purchased followers/engagement.
  • Creating multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions.
  • Manipulating transactions or exploiting system vulnerabilities.
  • Using the Service for illegal, fraudulent, or deceptive purposes.
  • Scraping or collecting data from the platform without authorization.
  • Interfering with or disrupting the Service.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Storyield shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits or data, arising from your use of the Service. Storyield is not responsible for the actions of Merchants or Influencers on the platform.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if you violate these Terms. You may close your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, all pending transactions must be completed or cancelled. Subscription fees and verified-Story fees accrued for Storyield Transactions completed and verified prior to termination remain payable.

14. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or prominent notice on the platform. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
